If you are interested in competing in a team here are some important facts.
No rider or horse may
represent more than one affiliated club in official competitions during the
official competition year.
Riders who have competed in a CI or CIO held under FEI rules since 1st January,
5 years prior the Championships are ineligible for these competitions.
We are part of Area 8 which comprises other Riding Clubs in the Essex area.
Most important!!
Flu vaccinations – these must be up to date, correct, stamped by your vet etc.
Valid Certificates – Vaccination Procedure
Each Horse must have a valid vaccination certificate, which undeniably relates to that horse, completed, signed and stamped on each line by a veterinary surgeon, who is not the owner of the animal. It must state that the horse has received two injections for primary vaccination against Equine Influenza given no less than 21 days and no more than 92 days apart. (Only these first two injections need to have been given before the horse may compete). In addition a first booster injection must be given no less than 150 days and no more than 215 days after the second injection of the primary vaccination. Subsequently, booster injections must be given at intervals of not more than 1 year apart, commencing after the first booster injection. None of these injections must have been given within the preceding 7 days, including the day of the competition or entry into the competition stables. Annual vaccinations may be given on the same date each year, but this is not recommended.
Please note that if on the day of a competition the organisers decide your horse’s vaccination is not correct you will not be allowed to compete and may be asked to leave the site. Please ensure you ask one of the committee to double check your certificate –Team Managers will ask you for a photocopy of your certificate when you first express an interest in teams.
If you are invited to compete as a team member for a qualifying class please ensure that you are also available on the championship date as there are restrictions on reserves etc. Championships are at various venues including Gloucestershire, Lincolnshire showground, Peterborough, Warwickshire. You will be expected to contribute towards entry fees, and stabling (should it be required), so please make sure you would be willing and able to travel, we try to help with costs where possible but entry fees alone are incredibly expensive.
For qualifying competitions we ask for subs of £5.00
for showjumping and dressage and £10-£15 for Hunter Trials/Horse Trials
(depending on entry fees which can be £30-£40 for showjumping/dressage and
approximately £100 for Horse Trials).
